Pikes Peak BMX

 Josh, our new BMX'er, got very fortunate that we landed in Colorado near one of the best BMX tracks out there! Quoting The Denver Westword, "The ABA-sanctioned track at Pikes Peak BMX, boasts a replica of the Beijing Olympic track."  We were told that it is one of the toughest BMX tracks in the United States.

Joshua got some great practice out there and got to train a bit with some really great riders.

Check out the air he is already getting!

*Pretty good for his third race ever!

We are so excited to watch Josh as he settles in to something he is a natural at. When he is not at the track, he is asking to go to the track. When we tell him it is time to leave the track, the tears fall. He has found his niche. And he is darn good too, if I must say so myself!

Cave Of The Winds

One afternoon we traveled over to Manitou Springs to "Cave of the Winds". It was beautiful there.  Although it sounds unpleasant, the kids have an unfortunate tradition of injuring themselves any time we go hiking.  It always involves blood. This trip Joshua was excited and running around right as we got out of the truck to head up to the cave. He took a good slide and tore up his elbow and knees. The park rangers took great care doctoring him up and he even got a huge bag of cotton candy after one of the workers saw his crocodile tears.

I fall in love all over again when I see pictures like this.

Sweet as sugar

Poor little man

Daddy decided to try and escape the cave. (;

Children's Museum of Denver

This past August we were in Colorado for a hail storm. It was beautiful and we had a great time there.  The next few posts I will share some of the things we did while we were there.

Children's Museum of Denver.
Museums are something we rarely miss when we get to a new city.

The museum had some fun exhibits and it did not disappoint!
